Hi, I'm Scott and I'm 13 yers old. This year is a very special one for me, it's my 10th year of fundraising for Telethon. Back in 2010 when I was 4 years old I learnt about helping others in Kindy and it got me thinking.... I decided I wanted to help sick kids and babies and the hardest thing I could think of to raise money was to walk the 25km from my farm to town. It took me asking every morning for 2 and a half weeks "can I please walk to town today?" for me to convince my Mum and Dad to let me try. I surprised everyone when I made it in 8 hours and I knew I would keep walking every year! I walked 25km at 5 and 6, 41km at 7 and full 42.195km Marathons at 8, 9 ,10, 11 and 12. I've also hike 82km up and down a mountain in Canada and completed 2x 50km Treadmill Challenges. My little brother Damien walked the Marathon with me in 2016, he was 7 years old. Damien found it really hard and it took 12 hours and 30 minutes, I'm so proud of him because he never gave up!. Damien decided that he did not like long distance walking and he would ride his push bike out the front setting the pace for future Marathons. Monday the 3rd of June (WA Day) is my 10th Walk down the Koolyanobbing Road to the Southern Cross Oval and it is my 6th Marathon. Damien will ride his bike out the front setting the pace for the 3rd time. Thanks to the help of the community around me we have raised $155,000 for Telethon since 2010. I am really hoping that you can once again support me so we can raise even more on this 10th year for this great cause!! Any donation big or small is greatly appreciated! In October over the Telethon Weekend I will also be completing me 3rd 50km Treadmill Challenge (where I will walk 50km on the Saturday and 30km on the Sunday). I also have my book 'Did You know, You can Change the World?' for sale on my website www.scottsgreatwalk.com as well as Telethon's website. It is about helping others and my walking journey and the $20 goes to Telethon!! My motto is "it's easy to make a difference, what can you do?" I'm hoping you can help me to help Telethon and the sick kids and babies of WA! Thank you. My walk is dedicated in loving memory to my little cousin, Joel.
