Established in 1989, Stepping Stone House is a Sydney-based not-for-profit organisation providing medium to long-term accommodation, development and care for young people aged 12 - 24. Residents join our family from all over New South Wales, have typically been at risk of homelessness, and are unable to live with their own families.
Our mission is to make a transformational difference to the lives of young people, starting with a safe and nurturing home environment. Our 'Stepping Stones to Independence' model supports youth through adolescence all the way to adulthood. As the only Out-of-Home-Care organisation who provides long-term care, we're a dedicated family - there for life.
For more than 20 years, Stepping Stone House has helped over 400 young people to become self-sufficient, independent and educated young adults. Through a combination of outdoor activities, education, community engagement, mentoring and rehabilitation, we aim to equip young people with the self-care and life skills they need to build a brighter future.
