Why we are supporting Starlight Children's Foundation

Our Story

Mark Twells, Epic's CFO will be running the London Marathon on the 23rd April 2017. Dig deep to support Mark as he bravely takes on this gruelling 26.2-mile (42.2km) run around the streets of London. Every year, more than 38,000 people take park in the marathon, with 253,930 people from the UK applying for a place in the 2017 marathon! Some run for personal achievement, some to raise money for their favourite charity, and many run in outrageous fancy-dress. Previous years' costumes have included a giant penguin, a London bus, Superman and a wide range of animals, including a rhinoceros or two. The Virgin Money London Marathon is open to all abilities, from beginners to professional athletes. Celebrities who have run the London Marathon in previous years include Princess Beatrice, Gordon Ramsay, Agyness Dean, Ronan Keating, Jenson Button and even astronaut Tim Peake in the International Space Station. Please donate to spur Mark on and to raise much needed funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Thank you in advance for your generosity.

About Starlight Children's Foundation

Starlight's mission is "To brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families".

Because sick kids are still kids at heart...

When a once-bright life becomes dulled by needles, hospital visits and painful treatments, Starlight helps sick kids forget their illness and re-discover the joy of childhood.

We know there's more to treatment than medicine. That's why since 1988, we've partnered with Australian health professionals to develop programs based on positive psychology principles that support the 'total care' of our children and teens.

Like the young people in our care, we are distinctly Australian. Our unique programs are the result of extensive research and respond to the specific needs of Aussie kids and teens.

We know what kids and their families are facing when serious illness or injury consumes their lives.

We disrupt the relentless cycle of pain and trauma and offer a welcome break so that sick kids can simply be kids.

We believe fun fights fear and wins every time.
