Why we are supporting Sir David Martin Foundation

Our Story

The Dirty Dozen is a rag-tag mob of mates (male and female) raising crucial funds that make it possible for the Sir David Martin Foundation to fund the ongoing operation of Triple Care Farm (TCF). This Farm is where the magic happens. Young Aussies arrive in a dispirited, broken and often suicidal state. Some require a period of detox and are helped into David Martin Place, a brilliant, purpose built detox facility right there at TCF. When its time to leave, these amazing and brave individuals are once again ready to take on the world. We take our hats off to them! Thank you for your generosity and support!

About Abseil for Youth 2018

Abseil for Youth is Sir David Martin Foundation's annual major fundraiser. Each year hundred's of brave people face their fears to abseil down a 33 storey/135 meter Sydney CBD skyscraper to help raise much needed funds for Triple Care Farm, a youth rehab and support program located in NSW. The Farm helps young people across Australia overcome drug and alcohol addictions, care and treatment for mental health illness, and support to find stable accommodation, further education and opportunities for employment.
By signing up to be part of our Abseil for Youth fundraiser, your bravery, enthusiasm and fundraising efforts will be making a huge difference to over 100 a young Australians who call upon Triple Care Farm each year to help them transform their lives.

The Sir David Martin Foundation through Abseil for Youth 2018 aims to raise $280,000 for Triple Care Farm. The cost for just one young person to complete the 12 week program at Triple Care Farm is $28,000. We suggest asking your family, friends and network to support you and your abseil by making the following donation amounts to your page that will change the lives of young people who have next to nothing prior to attending Triple Care Farm;
- $50.00 covers the cost of a counselling session for a young person at Triple Care Farm that is suffering chronic mental health issues.
- $80.00 gives a young person with a substance abuse issue, often due to no fault of their own, therapy sessions to turn their lives around at Triple Care Farm.
- $100.00 provides a young person with Vocational and Education training session at Triple Care Farm to assist them get back on their feet, make a life for themselves and contribute positively to society.
Every dollar you raise will have a direct impact on the lives of hundreds of young Australians and their families who rely on programs such as Triple Care Farm every year.
Thank you for your support and we hope you have an awesome Abseil for Youth experience!

About Sir David Martin Foundation

Sir David Martin Foundation is a charity dedicated to helping young people in crisis. We fund programs to support young people suffering from problems such as substance addiction, homelessness, mental illness, disengagement from society, abuse, unemployment and family breakdown. These programs provide treatment and support for these issues, as well as assist young people in returning to education and training to find pathways to employment and a healthy, productive life.

Our Goal is to fund effective programs that help young people in crisis regain their health, get off the streets and achieve their goals.

Our Vision is to create an environment where young people can grow up in safety, with hope and opportunity.

Sir David Martin Foundation currently supports the following Mission Australia program:

Triple Care Farm
An award-winning residential rehabilitation facility in Robertson, NSW, that provides 16-24 year olds with treatment and support for drug and alcohol addiction and mental illness.

The Foundation also helps support young people pursuing further education or entering the workforce through the Sir David Martin Foundation Scholarship Fund.
