From 1999 to 2011, a very strong, good looking set of close mates 😊 completed the Rottnest Channel Swin on 10 separate occasions. After the 2011 swim, the team decided that 10 times was enough and we vowed never to do the swim again….. As the years rolled on, one of our team members Chris Winter was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. One night when we were all together (and with the possibility of a few ales under our skin) we thought it would be a fitting tribute to our good mate Chris to get the team back together for ONE LAST TIME and enter the 2018 Port to Pub swim! The team has been assembled and consists of the original 4 swimmers plus some new additions to the team. Our original support crew have also thrown themselves behind us with boat driving, paddlers, other support crew all there to encourage us on the day. More importantly we want to do this swim for 2 reason; • Raise awareness of Parkinson’s Disease and • Raise money for research into Parkinson’s Disease. In order to maximise the fundraising efforts we have been able to secure sponsorship from Rottnest Express Ferry Services to cover the entry fee of the event. This sponsorship is much appreciated and the team is very grateful. For all people looking to donate, we have setup this page to encouraging all our Family and Friends to support us with donations big or small! Anything you can donate will go to the Shake it up Foundation which supports Parkinson Research and has a collaborative relationship with the Michael J Fox Parkinson Foundation.
