I am taking part in The Big Day Back to raise much needed funds for Spinal Cord Injuries Australia. Their work is really important, and I want to do what I can to help. Every dollar raised will help buy more life changing equipment for SCIA’s National Exercise Rehabilitation Program - NeuroMoves. Back in July of 1991, I had a horse riding accident where I broke my neck & became a Quadriplegic. This left me paralysed from the chest down including my arms & hands. I hate to say it, but when I had my accident 27 years ago, my life was changed. I was told, like so many others, that I wouldn't walk again. Fast forward to now and I have been attending Neuromoves twice a week for a number of years. They have helped me not only with improving my strength and movement but also with my confidence. I am now even walking as part of my exercise program. Although I still have a long way to go I have the support and knowledge of Neuromoves to keep me going! I could not do this without Neuromoves & this is why I want to support them with this fundraiser. But there is only so much I can do on my own. You can help too, by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference & is appreciated. You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Spinal Cord Injuries Australia create the world we want to see.
