Why I am supporting Spinal Cord Injuries Australia

My Story

When I'm not being a rock star photographer (haha, ahem) I work part time at a great organisation called Spinal Cord Injuries Australia (SCIA), whose vision is essentially: A society without barriers for people with spinal cord injury. I work alongside some amazing people, many of whom are living with a spinal cord injury themselves, all working towards the common goal to advance the rights, choices and entitlements of people living with spinal cord injury and similar conditions; and to ensure that high quality, relevant services are readily available for people with spinal cord injury and similar conditions. I'm hosting a friendly pool competition at Churchill's Sports Bar, Kingsford on Wednesday 5 September from 7pm, so I'd love to see you down there. All money raised will help towards this cause, so your support is massively appreciated! Thank you in advance :-)

About The Big Day Back

International Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day is the 5 September – a day that promotes disability awareness and inclusion across the globe.

Join us in backing people with spinal cord injuries by organising a fundraising activity at your work, school or in your community to raise money and awareness. If 5 September does not suit you – anytime in September is great!

Every dollar you raise will bring us closer to buying more life changing equipment for SCIA’s national exercise program, NeuroMoves.

At NeuroMoves every little improvement is celebrated as a Big Day. We know small changes can make a huge impact on someone’s life - from regaining the ability to hold a fork to feed yourself to improving strength and endurance to play with your kids.
