Redfern Legal Centre was founded in 1977 to help vulnerable communities gain access to justice. RLC is the oldest community legal centre in NSW and is dedicated to achieving social justice and human rights for people in need. We provide urgently needed free legal advice, legal services and education for communities in areas of NSW and participate in activities that reduce inequalities and defects in laws, the legal system, and administrative and social practices that impact on disadvantaged people.
RLC provides specialised legal advice and advocacy in the following areas:
-Credit, debt and consumer complaints
-Tenancy and housing
-Police and government accountability
-Discrimination and human rights
-A legal advice service for international students in NSW.
In addition, RLC will provide generalist advice to clients who experience disadvantage such as:
-People with disability
-Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people;
-People of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
