About One Door Christmas Appeal

What's on your Christmas wish list this year? What if it was as simple as:

-    Being accepted?

-    Having a place to go where people understand you?

-    Having someone there when you reach out for help?

-    Having access to vital healthcare?

-    Having hope in the coming year?

Help One Door grant some wishes this Christmas.

For most of us, Christmas is a time to be surrounded by family and friends, to celebrate, to feel joy and warmth. Yet there are so many people for whom Christmas is a time of sadness and pain.

"Of course, these problems may be exacerbated by the fact that many mental health professionals go on holiday over this period; people in serious distress may have nowhere to go."  - Dr Richard Schweizer

One Door helps over 10,000 people each year, like Dr Schweizer who is living with a mental illness, by translating the growing awareness of mental health into practical help on the ground.

We are in a unique time of change with the introduction of the NDIS and the winding down of existing funded programs - this is resulting in a period of uncertainty and stress for many people and families coping with mental illness. One Door is doing its best to support people through the transition but there is a real danger that some will be left without any support services at all. It is now up to organisations like One Door to find the funds required to keep essential mental health services going in NSW.

Mental illness doesn’t take a break for the holidays, please donate to One Door Mental Health and assist us in providing critical support all year round.
