We need your help to keep making wishes come true
Every day in Australia, six children are told that they are facing a life-threatening illness. Along with medical treatment, they need a Make-A-Wish wish to give them the hope and strength they need in the fight for their health.
This year we’re getting together our past and present wish families, and their support networks, for a very special event... a Teddy Bear’s Picnic!
The importance of community and support networks can’t be overrated for our wish children and their families; especially when coping with diagnosis and through difficult treatment. The Teddy Bear’s Picnic will be a wonderful way for families who have been through the toughest time to connect with each other, for children to share their incredible wish experiences, and for all involved to celebrate the life-changing impact of a wish.
As part of the Teddy Bear’s Picnic, we’ll be hosting a Teddy Bear Hunt in which these special bears will be placed. Each bear helps us raise much needed funds so that more children and their families can begin their wish journey.
So in 2017, we have a big goal. We want to grant 550 vital and life-changing wishes – more than we ever have before. This can’t happen without your support. By joining our Wish Bearer campaign and helping to make wishes come true, you will be helping ensure more seriously ill children and teenagers than ever before can experience the healing power of a wish. With each bear representing one of the 550 cherished wishes we’re hoping to grant this year, becoming a Wish Bearer truly allows you to make a life-changing difference to a really sick child. Be their cherished wish to ride a camel on the beach, be a princess in the snow or to learn how to build a Frozen snowman, your support will help to make the impossible possible.
