Why I am supporting Humpty Dumpty Foundation

My Story

My company Wiremarkers Australia Pty Ltd is a proud supporter of 1200kms for kids. But, every rider that does this ride has a personal story. Some not so nice. Mine was simply a personal tragedy, that got me motivated to do something, when all seemed lost. Being the oldest rider on this ride, I do enjoy giving the young lads a kick up the whatsit on hills, so in spite of the sadness of the past, the ride sure makes up with fun. Best of all, the money is all used for a great cause. So give generously, secure in the knowledge that whatever is donated, is put to great use!

About 1200kms for Kids 2018

The 1200kmsforkids Charity Bike Ride was conceived back in 2005 by Gary Richardson and Trevelyan Bale. The two friends were looking for a way to give back to the hospitals that had effortlessly helped their sick children.

Over a beer or two, the idea was born to form a group and cycle 1,200 kilometres in 7 days to raise as much money as possible for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and the Royal Children’s Hospital Brisbane.

To date, all of the $1,720,000 raised by 1200kmsforkids has gone to the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and the Children's Hospital Foundation, Brisbane and helps fund:

• Lifesaving medical equipment

• Research programs

• Pediatric training

• Volunteer services

• Children entertainment services

About my cause: Humpty Dumpty Foundation

The Humpty Dumpty Foundation has been providing support for children's services since 1996. Humpty raises funds to purchase vital/life-saving medical equipment for Neonatal Units (Newborn Care) and Paediatric Wards (toddlers and children to 16 years) in over 380 hospitals and health service centres across Australia.

We would all like to believe that our hospitals have all the necessary equipment they need to look after our children in an emergency, but put simply, they don’t.

The Humpty Dumpty Foundation is a charity that helps the most vulnerable people in our community: our children.

Thank you for choosing to support Humpty and for helping kids in hospital.
