Our darling Shari, she could light up a room with her beautiful smile, she loved to laugh, dance and sing, she loved her family and dogs with all her heart, she loved our camping holidays to the beach and our trips to Bali, she loved to binge watch Harry Potter and any teen series on Netflix, she gave cheek, made people laugh with her favourite joke.
On the 23rd of March 2017 Sharz was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, she fought it and won that year, but relapsed and within 6 months and had been fighting again since January 2018, she endured round after round of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant in March, a second transplant in June, a third transplant in November, sadly she spent seven months admitted in the Queensland Children’s Hospital battling terrible viruses, chronic pain, kidney failure and respiratory failure caused by pneumonia.
We lost Miss Shari on Saturday morning, the 12th of January 2019. She took her last breath as we held her in our arms.
We are so heartbroken to have lost our beautiful girl, we weren’t ready to let her go, so the next two days we spent with Shari at Hummingbird House in Brisbane, we felt so incredibly blessed to have more precious time with her, celebrating every wonderful thing about her. With the amazing space and the privacy of the unit, added also the wonderful caring staff who looked after both Shari and the rest of the family, we made more beautiful memories that we will cherish forever.
Shari would have loved being there with all of us in such a lovely place.
