The first Great Guide Sleepover was held in 1996 on the steps of the Opera House to raise awareness and funds for homeless communities. Since then, the Sleepover has become an annual tradition, moving locations over the years but always funding a cause for the community. Now in its 23rd year this event is at Taronga Zoo for another eventful evening of sleeping under the stars, Guiding, animals, movies, dancing and more.
Funds raised from the Great Guide Sleepover go to support Taronga Conservation Society. Taronga cares for 4,000 animals from over 350 species, many of which are threatened. Each year the event has been hosted at the Taronga Zoo Guides select an animal to support.
This year the Green (Sea) Turtle was selected as our focus for all donations. Our mascot for The Great Guide Sleepover 2018 is Sally the Sea Turtle. Thank you for your help in raising money to support the Green Turtles at the Taronga Conservation Society!
The Great Guide Sleepover is August 25, 2018.
This is a Guide only event. For more information regarding ticket purchases please visit Girl Guides NSW & ACT.
