About Great Guide Sleepover

The first Great Guide Sleepover was held in 1996 on the steps of the Opera House to raise awareness and funds for homeless communities. Since then, the Sleepover has become an annual tradition, moving locations over the years but always funding a cause for the community. Now in its 21st year we are returning to Taronga Zoo for an eventful evening of sleeping under the stars, Guiding, animals, movies, dancing and more

Funds raised from the Great Guide Sleepover go to support Taronga Conservation Society. Taronga cares for 4,000 animals from over 350 species, many of which are threatened. Each year the event has been hosted at the Taronga Zoo Guides select an animal to support. This year the Sumatran Tiger was selected as our focus for all donations. Our mascot for The Great Guide Sleepover 2017 is Tilly the Tiger. Thank you for your help in raising money to support the Sumatran Tigers at Taronga Conservation Society!

The Great Guide Sleepover is Saturday 26 August through Sunday 27 August.

This is a Guide only event. For more information regarding ticket purchases please visit Girl Guides NSW & ACT

About Girl Guides NSW & ACT

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to further support Girl Guides Australia NSW & ACT, where “girls are valued and take action to change the world”.

Guiding provides a values based dynamic and flexible non-formal educational program for girls and young women in a fun and supportive girl’s only environment.

Girls develop leadership skills and a sense of personal responsibility and a shared purpose to make the world a better place.

Guides enables girls and young women to grow into confident, self- respecting, responsible community members.

By being part of a global movement, the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts, we have access to cutting edge contemporary projects with a focus on leadership and creating opportunities so “all girls are valued and take action to change the world”.

There are 10 million Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 145 countries.
