About City to bay for FA

Ladies and gentlemen, This September I have decided to run the 12km city to bay raising much needed funds and awareness for FARA. So this is my fundraising page where all donations are greatly appreciated! Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved too. Anyone who knows me knows I love a bet and I love a challenge. I ran this back in 2011 with a time of just under 56 minutes Since then I've had countless beers and McDonald's and It'd be a long shot to think I could better that... So that's exactly what I'm going to try and do. So i'd love to see some extra money come in for anything under the 56 minute mark! Give me a challenge! There's 32 days until the big day and my training starts.... probably tomorrow night... Thank you for your generosity and support legends, it means a lot to me. Together we can help FARA create the world we want to see.

FARA

Imagine being a kid or a teenager and being told you have a degenerative muscle disease which will lead to a loss of muscle co-ordination, fatigue, vision impairment, hearing loss, slurred speech and then a serious heart condition - this is Friedreich Ataxia. 1 in every 30,000 affected. 1 in 90 are carriers.

The Friedreich Ataxia Research Association (fara) is a not for profit organisation that supports research into treatments and a cure for Friedreich Ataxia. fara does not receive State or Commonwealth Government support and relies largely on the family and friends of Friedreich Ataxia patients and generous businesses within Australia and New Zealand to fund its research programs.

Money raised will help establish our first clinical gene therapy trials in Australia, which will help find new treatments and a cure for Friedreich Ataxia.
