Marlborough Primary School is a small school of 220 students in Heathmont, in Melbourne’s outer east.
Improving student literacy is a major strategic goal of the school and so we have partnered with Dymocks Children’s Charities for this year’s school read-a-thon.
We hope the program will not only encourage students to read more, but also raise much-needed funds to buy new books for our library.
As a small school, we are heavily reliant on fundraising to update basic educational resources and infrastructure.
We are encouraging students to join the fun program and seek sponsorship for their reading from family, friends and neighbours. The more money we raise, the more books we can buy for our school.
Dymocks Children’s Charities will provide 100% of the amount raised by each student, plus a bonus 25% to go towards new books chosen by the school.
So, for every dollar raised, the school will receive $1.25 for new books.
Dymocks Children's Charities will also donate an additional 25% of the amount raised in brand new books to schools in need.
Students who register before Friday, June 29, will go into the draw to win a book pack valued at $150.
Every child that participates will receive a read-a-thon certificate.
If your child raises $200, they will receive a book of choice up to the value of $20.
If your child raises $380, they will receive two books of choice up to the value of $40.
If your child raises $560, they will receive three books of choice up to the value of $60.
Thank you for your support.
