Welcome to Dymocks 2018 Conference Fundraiser!
Once again, we will be fundraising for Dymocks Children's Charities throughout the Dymocks Conference and we invite you to get involved !!!! Every dollar raised will go directly towards our literacy programs and help us continue to change kids’ lives, one book at a time.
Who are we raising funds for?
Last year, the Waurn Ponds Dymocks store won the prestigious Chairman’s Award and as the worthy recipients of this award, all funds raised during the 2018 conference will go directly to a school in Waurn Ponds community.
Waurn Ponds have chosen a Grovedale Primary school, a school very close to their hearts. Julie Garner has a very personal connection to Grovedale – not only did her mum work their as Teacher Librarian from the 80s until her retirement, but Julie herself volunteered to help in the library and in doing so, saw first-hand the impact of limited resources in a small school environment.
Grovedale Primary School falls well below average in terms of educational advantage with an ICSEA score of 979, against a national average of 1000 and 32% of their students are in the bottom quartile of socio-educational advantage.
Our aim is to raise $6,000, which will provide $12,000 worth of books, which will be chosen by Grovedale Primary School.
Please give generously so we can help Grovedale get much-needed books for their students to read – every dollar really does make a difference and will provide $2 in value in books.
How are we raising funds?
There are 3 ways you can help us raise funds to support Grovedale Primary School during the 2018 Dymocks Conference.
1) Donate online at any time – all donations over $2 are tax deductible
2) Dymocks 2018 Conference Fines – text in to report your colleagues and pay your fines!!!
3) The Last Supper Food Fundraising Challenge
Dymocks Children’s Charities own General Manager, Paul Swain will take to the stage on the final day of the Dymocks Conference to eat a 3-course meal from a wild but-not-so-wonderful menu, in a food challenge which will take his stomach to the limit. From crunchy critters to grotesque meat cuts, this is your perfect chance to see Paul ‘suffer’ whilst supporting a fantastic cause and brings to a close, Paul’s 5 amazing years as General Manager of Dymocks Children’s Charities.
As we reach each fundraising milestone, Paul will endure a course of disgusting delicacies.
• $2000 raised = Paul will scoff a salacious, sickening starter and this will provide $4000 in books for Grovedale Primary School
• $4000 raised = Paul will munch on a marvellously nauseating main and this will provide $8000 in books for Grovedale Primary School
• $6000 raised = Paul will devour a delightfully vile dessert and this will provide $12,000 in books for Grovedale Primary School.
Whoo hoo!!!! Mission accomplished, revenge on Paul achieved and Paul’s last supper is complete!
Feeling food envy? Paul is in need of a dinner guest for each course and you can choose who will join him!
Each day during the Dymocks Conference the most generous donor can nominate a dinner guest who will join Paul on stage for one of his 3 courses. Fear not nominees, there is a way to escape this dinner invite, by donating your way out and keeping your appetite for the Conference Gala dinner.
Enjoy Dymocks Conference 2018 and help Dymocks Children's Charities change kids lives, one book at a time!
