About Ride for a Difference

Ride for a Difference challenges cyclists over several consecutive days and several more hundred kilometres.

Now in its 8th year, it is a ride which is both welcoming and action-packed, with significant physical and fundraising objectives.

Held from 17th to 19th March 2017, each team member's goal is to raise $2,000 for the Day of Difference Foundation.

In 2017, the Foundation’s fundraising campaign will co-fund and engage a Trauma Family Support Nurse and a Trauma Social Worker at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. These specialists  will help families from the moment a child arrives in hospital and for up to two years after a child’s critical injury.  Emotional effects such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, anxieties and depression can be addressed or avoided, and normality - or a new normality - is restored more quickly.  Practical support such as organising transport, accommodation, employment leave, childcare and insurance will all be provided.  Importantly, these staff will also help the families of critically injured children navigate complex medical appointments, specialists and treatments.

We'll be funding these staff for two years. Every donation counts.

Please help us fundraise and give generously to help mums, dads, brothers and sisters, throughout their 'trauma journey'.

About Day of Difference

OUR MISSION IS EVERY PARENT’S MISSION

We are a charity on a mission to reduce the incidence and impact of a child’s critical injury.

With your support, we have already contributed to nearly $2,000,000 worth of research to determine how to do that.

The research has recommended new staff are employed in the Trauma Department of children's hospitals to help families cope with their child's injury.

We are now raising funds for these staff at Lady Cilento Children's Hospital in Brisbane.

Our campaigns respond directly to recommendations from research. That’s why we know they’ll work.
