The Day of Difference Foundation’s Hospital Care Program engages a Trauma Family Support Nurse and a Trauma Social Worker at the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital in Brisbane, Australia's largest children's emergency hospital.
These two wonderful people will begin work in 2017. They will help with practical things like accommodation, transport and finances and the huge psychological impact - trauma, anxiety and depression - which may all appear during the recovery of a critically injured child.
We hope that they will prove to be so successful that we will ultimately be able to implement the Hospital Care Program in all the children’s hospitals in Australia.
This program has been developed as a direct response to recommendations made during the Paediatric Critical Injury Research Program run by the University of Sydney and commissioned by the Day of Difference Foundation.
