About Summit Kosi for a Cure

Join Cure Cancer Australia's fundraising champion Kate and the team as we summit Mount Kosciuszko ("Kosi") for a cure and help raise much needed funds and awareness for our young emerging cancer researchers.

Mount Kosi, in NSW, is Australia's Highest mountain at 2228 metres and one of the original 7 summits. The popular summit walk takes you to the rooftop of Australia with sweeping 360 views across the Snowy Mountains and Victorian High Country, some of Australia’s most unique landscapes.

When? 23rd to 25th November (3 day trip duration)

Walk: 1 day walk, Grade Introductory to Moderate

Feeling more adventurous?

Take on the ultimate Mount Kosi challenge with Kate - "Kate's Mount Everest Challenge";  you will climb the equivalent distance of Mount Everest, which means climbing Mount Kosi not just once or twice...but four times! This unique and exciting challenge will see you climb once on the first day, twice on the second day and the final day you will join the rest of the group for the final summit. Finishing with a well deserved celebratory BBQ.

When? 21st to 25th November (5 day trip duration)

Walk: 3 day walk, climbing Mount Kosi 4 times, twice on one of the days.

About Kate:

Kate began fundraising for the Cure Cancer Australia Foundation in 2012 and has since taken on numerous global adventures including trekking the Kokoda trail, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and running the New York Marathon. She was inspired to begin raising money for young, emerging cancer researchers following her own cancer diagnosis at just 26. Now cancer free, Kate is proving to herself and the world that anything is possible with enough determination.

About Cure Cancer Australia

Cure Cancer Australia is dedicated to funding crucial cancer research from Australia’s brightest emerging minds. We believe early-career researchers who offer new ideas and challenging perspectives are the key to advancing the fight against ALL types of cancer.
The funding landscape for early-career researchers is extremely competitive. Cure Cancer Australia provides the vital early-career funding that our emerging research innovators so desperately need. Without investment in their potentially life-saving research, there won't be a future pipeline for Australian cancer research.
To date, Cure Cancer Australia has invested close to $30 million to support more than 300 scientists and provide close to 500 research grants. Many of our alumni are now amongst the leaders in cancer research both in Australia and around the world.
We won't cure cancer without research and we cannot cure cancer without you. Help us to make this the last generation to die from cancer.
