Cancer has killed many people in my, and my wife's life. Nancy, my wife, lost her husband to cancer after battling this disease for 10 years. I lost my father, immediately following an operation to remove part of his bowel. I also lost my partner, Lynn, to lung cancer nine years ago. Three years ago my brother, Colin (aged 57) and four years before that my other brother, Alan (aged 57) also passed away from this dreadful disease. I turn 57 in May and decided to run a FU Marathon, partly in memory of my brothers, partly to say that I am OK and I won't be joining them at 57 and partly to raise funds for a great cause. I am taking part in the Sri Chinmoy Marathon (42km) in Royal National Park to raise much needed funds for Cure Cancer Australia. Their work is really important, and I want to do what I can to help. But there is only so much I can do on my own. You can help too, by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Cure Cancer Australia create the world we want to see.
