About Wynyard Place Charity Bike Ride

Brookfield is proud to support the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse and its development of the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse Comprehensive Sarcoma Centre.

Over three years, Brookfield in conjunction with its Wynyard Place Development, is aiming to raise $120,000 through a number of charitable events, the first being a charity bike ride.

The ride will be held over three days, promising to be a challenging adventure for all who take part. Riders will start training in early 2018, in preparation for the ride throughout the Southern Highlands in March. The riders will cover approximately 300kms whilst taking in exceptional views around the Southern Highlands.

All funds raised will go to the development of The Lifehouse Comprehensive Sarcoma Centre which will investigate and spearhead new treatments, with the aim to significantly increase survival prospects and quality of life for teenagers and young adults.

About Chris O'Brien Lifehouse

Our mission at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse is to improve the quality of life of cancer patients, carers and their families by advancing the understanding, diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of the disease.

Around one in two men and one in three women will get cancer. Every year in NSW alone more than 39,000 new cases of cancer are expected to be diagnosed – that is more than 100 every day.

Lifehouse represents a unique model of care and funding in Australia, as a not-for-profit hospital charity treating public and private patients. We have no shareholders and income is reinvested for the benefit of our patients.

At Lifehouse, the patient is at the centre of everything we do. We want to make things easier for people with cancer through integrated treatment, research, education, complementary therapies and support. Everything a patient needs is in one place, including allied health, complementary therapies and psychosocial support.

We also have a strong focus on educating the next generation of cancer clinicians and on medical research, including trials of new drugs, both by conducting our own research and by partnering with other institutions.
