My name is Isabel and I am student from Sydney and witnessing news about the growing atrocities committed towards the Rohingya has inspired me to help make a change. The Rohingya are an ethnic minority in Burma that have been declared illegal immigrants in their own country and are violently persecuted and abused. Hundreds and thousands of stateless Rohingya travel dangerous journeys to Bangladesh, settling in temporary camps that lack facilities and security. Many of the Rohingya are at extreme risk of flash flooding, landslides and possible cyclones due to the incoming monsoon season. These natural disasters could severely impact their lives as it not only could destroy their shelters and increase disease outbreak but also cause fatalities.
In order to raise money towards the CARE, an organisation that supports refugees, with a focus on women and children, my friends and I will be doing a 15km walk for change. Please support the fastest-growing humanitarian crisis and donate.
