Ingram Micro is proud to support Cancer Council Australia in their bid to undertake and fund cancer research, prevent and control cancer and provide information and support for people affected by cancer. We would love to host you at the upcoming Australia vs. India Twenty20 game on the 25th of November. It will be a great evening as we raise money for such a great cause and celebrate Australia winning the series (or so we hope!) We appreciate your $500 a head for a great night, food and beverages for the night to be covered. Come and join the Ingram Team for an awesome event.

About Cancer Council

Cancer Council is the only charity in Australia to work across every area of every cancer, from research to prevention and support. We help people from the point of diagnosis through to treatment and survivorship.

Research

Cancer Council's supporters have helped us become the largest non-government funder of cancer research in the country, investing $288 million in Australian cancer research over the past five years alone.

Investment by organisations like Cancer Council has helped increase cancer survival rates from 49% in the 1980s to 69% today.

Information

We provide evidence-based, up-to-date information about all aspects of cancer to:
- doctors and other health professionals - to help improve prevention, detection and treatment of cancer
- cancer patients and the general community - more than 50,000 Australians contact the Cancer Councils for information and advice each year, through Cancer Council 13 11 20.

Prevention

Our early detection and prevention programs aim to help people quit smoking, protect themselves from the sun, eat healthier foods and engage in physical activity to reduce the risk of cancer.

Patient support

Cancer Councils coordinate a network of cancer support groups, services and programs to help improve the quality of life of cancer patients, people living with cancer, their families and carers.

Treatment

Our Australia-wide network of health professionals, the Clinical Guidelines Network (CGN) develops guidelines to provide the best evidence based treatment and care for cancer patients. We also work closely with our clinical partner, the Clinical Oncology Society of Australia , to ensure recommendations on cancer care incorporate the advice of experienced cancer specialists across the full range of medical and scientific disciplines.

Advocacy
Cancer Council Australia advises government on the needs of our stakeholders and provides an independent voice for improved cancer control policy based on the evidence.

Cancer Council also publishes the National Cancer Prevention Policy which advocates for a concerted and comprehensive national approach to the prevention of cancer. The policy makes specific recommendations for national action by governments and non-government organisations, including programs and strategies to reduce the incidence of cancer.
