I am taking part in Blackmore's Sydney Running Festival 2018 to raise much needed funds for Starlight Children's Foundation. As some of you may know, my grandson Oliver has spent the last 9 weeks in Randwick Children's Hospital after rapidly declining in health and being diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome. It has been a very emotional and tough time, but the Starlight room has kept Oliver in high spirits and helped him forget the pain he is going through. Even when he was not well enough to leave his room, Captain Pogo, Rainbow, Side Pony, Boom, Shazam, Powers, Shuffle, Kitty, Curly and Ken (their great leader!) came to us and entertained with games, tricks, fart and poo jokes! What 4yo doesn't love that! Until you are thrust into such a situation you don't realise how important the Starlight room is to the children and the families facing these long roads to recovery. The Starlight room is interactive, educational and always running something different every day. Their work is so important, and I want to do what I can to help. But there is only so much I can do on my own. You can help too, by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Starlight Children's Foundation create the world we want to see.
