After a brutal warm up at City to Surf which has left me asking for a massage every 5 minutes, taking 20 minutes to get out of every chair I sit in and sliding down the stairs on my bum, I will be participating in the Bridge Run on the 16th of September. C2S left me gasping for air, taking ‘water breaks’ with the actual aim of lowering a dangerously high heart rate and questioning whether I will ever walk again as I crawled over the finish line. However, I am willing to put myself through it all again during the Bridge Run with the aim of smashing 10km in under 60 minutes to support the men in my life. Prostate cancer is the most common cancer diagnosed in Australia. We have the highest incidence rates internationally and it is estimated that 17,729 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed in Australia in 2018. The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia is the main national body dedicated to reduce the impact of prostate cancer on Australian men, their partners and their families. They fund innovative and world leading research, implement awareness and education strategies and most importantly, support men and their families affected by prostate cancer. I would love for you all to help me support such an important cause. Even the smallest donation is so appreciated and if a donation is not feasible, I ask you to ‘donate’ by telling any man in your life - your dad, brother, uncle, son, husband that you love them. Let's all support the gorgeous men we have in our lives and kick cancer in the butt.
