In 2008, at only 17 years old, I thought the hardest challenge ahead of me was passing my HSC and finding the perfect dress for the school formal.
Then I was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer.
What followed was months of surgery, chemotherapy and multiple specialist appointments... on top of studying, doing assignments and sitting exams.
10 years on and still cancer free, it doesn't escape me how incredibly fortunate I have been. The 5 year survival rate for Australian women with ovarian cancer is only 43%. This is in part due to the lack of an early detection test.
I am taking part in Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2018 to raise much needed funds for Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF). Their work is really important, and I want to do what I can to help. But there is only so much I can do on my own.
You can help too, by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference!
You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media.
Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF) create the world we want to see.
