I am taking part in Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2018 to raise much needed funds for Mark Hughes Foundation. Their work is really important, and I want to do what I can to help. This is a running festival I loved with Benny. We completed my 1st marathon & Benny’s 1st half marathon in Sydney in 2014 & our final Sydney Blackmores marathon together, surrounded by our gorgeous friends in 2016. I really miss having Benny out there for the support & laughs & running with me, I miss the fun competitiveness we had out running too, but I love the run around Sydney & it’s so important to me to help raise funds for MHF. Benny loved his life & Brain Cancer took away the future that we were so excited about, I don’t want others losing their life so young to this cruel disease. You can support me, by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! 12/10/2015 changed everything for Benny & myself. After 2 seizures at the John Hunter hospital, a CT scan result showed a 3cm mass on Benny’s brain. He was operated on the same week & it was the worst possible result, grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM). Benny only survived 14months from diagnosis, he went through 3 operations, chemotherapy, radiation & a trial treatment drug. He suffered seizures & had left side weakness, it took so much independence away & ultimately his life. Brain Cancer was extremely cruel to Benny & it was heartbreaking for our family & friends. We started fundraising at 1st because we desperately wanted a cure & we didn’t want others to go through what Benny did & what we went through as a couple too. The Brain Cancer care coordinator funded by MHF was an absolute angel for us at the toughest time of our life & more research into finding a cure is so important for others up against brain cancer You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Mark Hughes Foundation create the world we want to see.
