As an Oncology/Haematology pharmacist in Orange in rural NSW I see the important work of the Leukaemia Foundation on a daily basis. They support our patients and their families going through their blood cancer journey, they provide lots of awesome information booklets to help people and their family understand their cancer, and their treatment. They also help with transport and accommodation for our patients needing to travel to and stay in Sydney for stem cell transplants (an often curative treatment), without which many rural patients would not be able to afford.
I am running a half marathon (21.1km) in the Blackmore's Sydney Running Festival to raise awareness and much needed funds to support the work of this awesome organisation. Especially, for their work with rural people.
If you can donate, any amount, it will be greatly appreciated...Just to add to the support, if I hit my $500 goal, I will run the whole half marathon dresses as a red blood cell.
