My Story

In November last year my very dear friends Inge and Pat lost their beautiful baby boy Liam to Polycystic Kidney Disease. His short life was overflowing with love, and I am running in memory of that. Losing Liam was unimaginable heartache for his family, and all of us close to them. I am also running to raise funds for Kidney Health Australia in the hope that research may mean another family does not need to go through the same.

About my team: The Kidney Beans

The Kidney Beans are raising funds for Kidney Health Australia by joining in Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2018. We are running in memory of our baby Liam Diamond Crivelli who passed away from a rare, inherited kidney disease in November 2017. Funds raised will go towards research into the genetic causes of kidney disease, to hopefully prevent future families from losing their much loved babies. You can help, too! Please donate and share this page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! With love and gratitude xx

About my cause: Kidney Health Australia

Each year more Australians die with kidney related disease than breast cancer, prostate cancer and even road deaths. Sadly, 1 in 3 Australians is at increased risk of kidney disease and an estimated 1.7 million Australians over the age of 25 already have at least one clinical sign of existing kidney disease.

Kidney Health Australia, formerly known as the Australian Kidney Foundation, is a national health care charity with a vision to save and improve the lives of Australians affected by kidney disease.

Kidney Health Australia aims to;

• Educate the general public about the risk factors of kidney disease and train health professionals to help spread this message.

• Advocate on behalf of all kidney patients and the tireless carers who support those living with kidney disease.

• Research for a cure. Kidney Health Australia is the largest non-government funder of kidney disease research in Australia.

• Support Australians affected by kidney disease through a range of resources and programs.

Kidney Health Australia is independent of Governments and indebted to the community for their support.
