My mum, Beth, passed away in October 2017 after a three year battle with cancer. It is her birthday on the 16th of September (this coming Sunday) the same day as the Sydney Running Festival is being held. If she were still alive she would be turning 64. I have decided it would be a nice way to honour and remember her by running in the half marathon and raising money for cancer research. Unfortunately I havn't quite been able to get myself up for the full marathon (42km) so will only be running the half (21km)... but please don't halve your donation!! Cure Cancer Australia is dedicated to funding crucial cancer research from Australia’s brightest emerging minds. You can check them out here: www.curecancer.com.au I have selected them as they have a progressive approach to cancer research, with the majority of their funding going, in the form of grants, to young or early-career researchers. They focus on tackling cancer from fresh perspectives and don't allow older, more traditional ideas about cancer research to get in the way of innovation. Any amount you can give will make a difference to this impressive organisation. I am sick of cancer. Let's do our best to end this horrible disease! Thanks!
