My Story

Earlier this year, a good friend and almost birthday twin (he's one day older) of mine discovered a brain tumour in his cerebellum. Today, we're extremely lucky to say that Nick Luke aka Moonbase had the tumour successfully removed and is now in tip top shape. Here's where I come in: Moonbase and friends (it me/My) will be doing a little twee.5 km fun run to raise money and awareness for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, a charity that's very dear to our hearts. Now if you know me, you know I struggle with walking long distances let alone running so this will be quite a challenge for me. If you donate, I promise to train to a point where I can comfortably jog without passing out within twee minutes. Every donation counts, so please whip out those cards and get to it! Special note for anyone who wants to meet us at the end of the line: bring pizza and prosecco - please and thank you.

About my team: Moonbase and Friends

Please support Moonbase and Friends as we run the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival to raise funds and awareness for a charity very close to our hearts, Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. In January this year, Moonbase aka Nick was diagnosed with a rare, life-threatening brain tumour in his cerebellum. One emergency brain surgery, many stitches, metal plating and a lot of recovery time later, we're proud to say that Moonbase is now back in action and fully recovered. Around 1700 people are diagnosed with brain cancer in Australia annually and approximately 1200 die from the disease every year. Please support the team by making a donation to contribute to Cure Brain Cancer Foundation's important work for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness. Every dollar counts! Thanks in advance.

About my cause: Cure Brain Cancer Foundation

Cure Brain Cancer is the peak organisation for brain cancer research, advocacy and awareness in Australia, with a time-critical mission to increase five-year survival from the current 20% to 50% by 2023.

With a strong patient focus we forge global collaborations, fund innovative research and are bringing world-class clinical trials to Australia to give children and adults with brain cancer access to new treatments faster.
