Mid way through 2017 my beautiful Grandma, Bev, was diagnosed with a rare cancerous sinonasal tumour. We were all so shocked and our lives were turned upside down instantly. Grandma underwent chemotherapy and radiation therapy at the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse in Sydney, which is a non-for profit specialised cancer centre providing specialised treatment for rare and complex cancers. Sadly, on September 9th 2017 with one week of treatment to go and on the day after her 83rd Birthday, Grandma passed away. She was so incredibly brave and not a day goes by that I don't think about her. Her legacy will live on in my family for ever. In honour of Grandma, and to give back to the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse who were so amazing with Grandmas treatment and care, I am running the half marathon in the Blackmores Sydney Running Festival to raise much needed funds for Chris O'Brien Lifehouse. Their work is extremely important, and I want to do what I can to help them fund cancer treatments and research. But there is only so much I can do on my own. You can help too, by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. All four of my amazing Grandparents suffered through cancer and your generosity and support to help me raise funds for cancer research would mean the world to me and my family. Together we can help Chris O'Brien Lifehouse create a world we want to see.
