We are taking part in Blackmores Sydney Running Festival 2018 to raise much needed funds for Children’s Cancer Institute. Their work is really important, and we want to do what we can to help. But there is only so much we can do on our own. You can help too, by donating to our page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support us by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to our page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to us. Together we can help Children’s Cancer Institute create the world we want to see. The Father and Son charity run is back, this is the fourth year the charity run has been running. This year a total of 172km will be run, featuring 2x 4k, 4x5k, 4x10k, 2x Half marathons and 1x Full marathon, with the target of $860. Yes! The number gets bigger, as the little one joins in to make the All Four team! A little of flashback of the previous father and son charity run: Year 2015 - total of 125 km ran and raised USD $1258 for Indonesia`s underprivileged children (HORE-House of Reading) Year 2016 - total of 222 km ran and raised AUD $ 2355 for Sydney Children Hospital Year 2017 - total of 152 km ran and raised AUD $765 raised for Royal Institute for Deaf and Blind Children, While consistently sticking to our main cause for children and education, this year we choose to run for the Children’s Cancer Institute to celebrate the life of our dear aunt who has just passed away last month in battling her colon cancer. She was diagnosed for colon cancer in February this year, had immediate operation afterwards, and scheduled for 10 sessions of chemotherapy. However she passed away after the third session last June. This year. the father has recovered from his injury and started running again while shaving off some weight off his belly, and other parts too. He will be running his 24th full marathon. Eugene will be doing his second half marathon this year, amazingly finishing his first half marathon sub 2 hours in the age of 9. He, however has to reduce his load of trainings following consultations as it may harm his young muscles to train too heavily at this point of age. Exelina is getting comfortable with 5km now. She seems to enjoy collecting her medals and share the stories in the classroom. Her mom is her personal motivator and companion for the runs, read: Disney songs when she hits “The Wall”. Family members, friends, colleagues are encouraged to donate AUD $5 for every kilometer that they run, thus the target of 172 Km x 5 = $ 860 this year Here are the details of The Father and Son charity run this year, in term of who ran and distance covered. 2018 2XU Sydney 10.
