My Story

Friends! I’m biting the bullet… and have finally entered myself into the Blackmore’s Half Marathon on the 17th of September. BUT I’ve also decided to run with reason, and raise money for White Ribbon in the hope to raise awareness for domestic violence, and how to stand up and speak out safely. The work White Ribbon does in Australia is vitally important to changing societal attitudes and behaviours, a cause I strongly believe in and support. Focused on building the confidence of women and believe in developing a nation that respects all women and allows them to live in safety, free from all forms of abuse. White Ribbon Australia highlights the positive role men can play to stop violence against women and enables them to be part of this social change. Any funds I raise will go towards supporting the White Ribbon’s national primary prevention campaign, which aims to stop violence before it occurs, through education initiatives in schools and workplaces, awareness raising and by challenging ingrained attitudes and power inequalities that give rise to men’s violence against women. So, if you are able to spare some smashed avo cash, it would mean the world and make a difference (your donations are tax deductible too) and I’ll do my best to run fast! LOVE MADI

About my cause: White Ribbon Australia

White Ribbon is the world's largest movement of men and boys working to end men's violence against women and girls, promote gender equality, healthy relationships and a new vision of masculinity.

White Ribbon Australia, as part of this global movement, aims to create an Australian society in which all women can live in safety, free from violence and abuse.
