My Story

My name is Michael Muehlheim and I am super excited to be raising funds for SeeBeyondBorders. As an employee of Macquarie, your donation will be matched by the Macquarie Foundation!! Help me to help improve the education of 2,000 primary schoolchildren (year 1 to 3) in the poorest areas of Cambodia. My target this year is to raise $25,000, and with the matching by the Macquarie Foundation, will fund SeeBeyondBorders, an Australian Charity I have supported for the last 7 years, with $50,000 to train 50 teachers on their UNESCO award winning Teacher Training Program for 12 months. If you can donate $200, fully tax deductable, with the matching by the Macquarie Foundation, you will be positively impacting the education of 16 schoolchildren for 12 months in Cambodia. So please help me to support this great cause, and give 2000 schoolchildren a chance to lift themselves out of poverty with a better education.

About my cause: SeeBeyondBorders

SeeBeyondBorders is a not-for-profit organisation that provides Cambodian children with access to quality teaching and learning at school.

We train teachers, develop school infrastructure and support local families in educating their children in Cambodia - a country that has been ravaged by war, genocide, repression and starvation.

Faced with extreme poverty, nearly half the children living outside the main cities do not complete primary school. We work to enable more children to complete their basic education and progress from primary to lower secondary school.

SeeBeyondBorders delivers three integrated programs: Quality Teaching, Community Engagement, and Systemic Capability. We are committed to sustainably improving education standards in Cambodia and promote local participation, management, responsibility and ownership across all of our programs.

Presently we work in 53 rural primary schools, with 256 teachers participating in our program who teach and educate 7,154 children.
