Sunday September 17 I am running in the Blackmores Half Marathon. While I have always been a runner - you may know from #Elite snaps or my high five posts - until this year I had not been on a run longer than 6km I am raising money and awareness for The Black dog Institute. In recent times I have had a few friends say that haven’t been feeling right. Whether its a new anxiety, depression or just generally being down, it seems to be on the increase. And that’s ok. We’re human and we’re allowed to get down. However, I am sure there many more suffering in silence So I ask my friends two things: - Firstly to donate a small amount. If only 10% of my Facebook friends list pitch in $10 (the price of a beer or two depending where you are) we’ll raise over $1000. - Secondly is to spend another $10 on a beer with your friend. The chat you have over that beer (or coffee) can be invaluable. Ask your friend how they’re doing. And more importantly, if you are feeling a bit under it, then I ask you to ask your friend for a beer. Speak out. There is always help If you’re in Sydney that day I’ll see you for a beer afterwards.
