As many of you know I love to run. I run for fitness, I run for me time and I run to be social. But most of all I run to maintain a healthy mind. I knew this year would be challenging for myself and my family as I returned to full time work. However, instead of stressing about the stress I decided to set myself a goal that would make me get out there and run, even when I didn't feel like it. I knew without a goal I would find excuses. So, here it is. My goal for this year is to run the Blackmores Sydney Marathon. My first full marathon. Through the Sydney Running Festival I have chosen to raise money for Black Dog Institute and their 'Exercise Your Mood' program which encourages people to use exercise as part of a healthy wellbeing program. I know for me, exercise helps my body as well as the mind in so many ways. This is why I have decided that for every kilometre I run in my preparation for the Blackmores Sydney Marathon I will donate $1. I don't know how many kilometres I will do, I'm actually curious to see. So here I go, on my journey to Exercise my Mood.
