I am taking part in Journey Through Nepal to raise much needed funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia. As most of you know, I was diagnosed with breast cancer 7 years ago. After my initial treatment all my results suggested that it was a very early cancer, and there was over a 99% chance that I was cured. I threw myself into Dragon Boat paddling and had many amazing adventures, including the journey of training and trying out for the Australian Dragon Boat team. Unfortunately, that was not where my journey was destined to lead me. A nagging pain near my shoulder blade turned out to be a large hole in one of my ribs. The cancer had spread to my bones, lungs and liver, and within two weeks I had fractured all my lumbar vertebrae just by turning over in bed. Since then I have had several rounds of chemo, radiation and hormonal treatments. At last, I’m starting to feel like my old self, which means it’s time to set another lofty goal. I’ve started preparations to trek in Nepal in March 2019, and along the way I aim to raise $4000 for BCNA. You can help too, by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Breast Cancer Network Australia create the world we want to see.
