In May 2012 I felt great, my family was healthy, my life was blessed. One month later I found a lump in my left breast, within one week I was diagnosed with breast cancer. All those that knew me were shocked - tears flowed. My husband held me tight, together we would get through this. My parents changed their lives to help us. One week after diagnosis, I had my first of two surgeries. I cut my hair short in anticipation of losing it with six months of chemotherapy. Then 6 weeks of daily radiation therapy. Throughout my breast cancer journey I have relied upon the wealth of information that is the BCNA. From reading "My Journey Information Guide" cover to cover multiple times, to seeking support on how to tell our then 3 & 5 year old boys, to using the online network. The BCNA is a hugely valuable resource for Australian women and their families. Now six years later I am truly one of the luckily ones. Although I am on hormone therapy, I am happy, healthy and still here to tell my story. I am taking part in Journey Through Nepal to raise much needed funds for Breast Cancer Network Australia. Please support me and BCNA by donating to my page. Any amount you can give makes a difference! You can also support me by encouraging others to get involved, too. Please email the link to my page to your friends and family, or share it on social media. Thank you for your generosity and support -- it means a lot to me. Together we can help Breast Cancer Network Australia create the world we want to see.
