We are a group of local gals who will be surfing the waves from Palm Beach to Manly from sunrise to sunset in one day, the First of December 2017, to raise enough funds for the amazing Aim for the Stars to pay for one scholarship, which costs $5000. We’ll be waxing our boards on Friday, 1 December 2017, for an early paddle at Palm Beach and a late sunset-ish one in Manly, stopping at as many spots as conditions allow. This will be followed by a celebration party, and raise additional funds through a raffle and other fundraising initiatives. It is exciting to support a Foundation started by Layne Beachley, a seven-time World Champion who empowers and supports women to achieve their goals through financial grants and mentoring. Since 2003, the Foundation has helped some of the most disadvantaged yet determined women and girls whose dreams include curing cancer, representing Australia at the Olympic and Paralympic games, saving the great barrier reef and becoming an internationally renowned ballet dancer. To reach our goal, we need our fantastic community to get behind us. If you are a business who would like to sponsor, we’d love to hear from you! Individuals can donate directly through our fundraising page. Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible. Anything you can give is much appreciated. With more funding, more wonderful women will be helped, more smiles will be shared and another step to a better world will be taken. Thank you for your support!
