It was only 8 months from my mother's first diagnosis to her last day with us.
Immediately after the doctors determined chemotherapy was a must, I made a promise to shave my head as a sign of solidarity. However, my mother (bless her heart) would not allow it. She couldn't stand the thought of her daughter getting married with a shaved head! So I didn't.
Now, 7 months since saying goodbye to mum, I would like to shave my head, not only in honor of her, but also to raise money for a very important cause - Cancer Research.
Mum was initially misdiagnosed with Ovarian Cancer due to the location of the tumor they found, but it was later determined the origin was the stomach.
Cancer is so prevalent in our society and we need to do more to understand the varying kinds of cancers for the purpose of diagnosis, prevention, and treatment.
So I kindly ask you to give what you can to the Australian Cancer Research Foundation, to allow them continue their research into eliminating cancer.
To show their support, the amazing bunch at The Grifter Brewery will hold my 'doing the deed' event on Sunday 26 November at 1/391 Enmore Road, Marrickville at 3pm. So please come along, have a beer and laugh, make a donation, and watch me put on a brave face.
I will also be donating my hair to be made into a wig for a deserving fighter!
So please, make the gift you give yourself this Christmas, a donation to a very worthy cause, and join me in saying F*!K Cancer!
Thank you in advance for your support.
Much love to you all x x x
